Summary

The Maker Movement is an exciting time in education. It recognizes the power of learning and problem solving in the physical world. But, due to its popularity, schools and districts are investing heavily in expensive materials and tools with the desire to build the most "innovative" space that has everything on the “maker shopping list”. Yet, without a focus on teaching design processes, craftsmanship, methods and materials, what we are left with is a beautiful space that produces little student learning and expensive wasted material. Join our panel of makers, designers, educators and tech leaders, as we share with you ways to get a better return on investment from the maker movement.
