Summary

We need to move beyond the insistence on teaching "code for all!" and answer the question "code for what?" Meet four thought-leaders working at the intersection of practice and theory, education and industry, tech and equity. We share insights from programs and tools we've built and run worldwide (US, Zambia, UK) that link computer programming to justice. Through Youth Radio Interactive, Code4Rights and Local Ground, teens create tech (apps, maps, etc.) that empowers communities by raising awareness, sharing data, mitigating algorithmic bias and mobilizing action. Learn what's effective, hear stories from youth, wrestle with challenges and make connections to advance your work.
