Summary

Data has a bad reputation among educators. It can be difficult to understand, reductive and punitive even. Yet data can also make a world of difference in targeting resources and instructional support to the right students. Researchers from three large, urban districts will discuss how using data coaches helped their agencies move from data-use for accountability to data-use for impact and change. Panel members will discuss their districts’ unique experiences, including possible pitfalls and promising practices related to the creation and implementation of these roles.
