Summary

The Every Student Succeeds Act, signed in 2015, expanded the opportunity for states to better serve all students and shifted autonomy to state governments. The law made strides in giving states more opportunities and resources to support the 1 in 5 children with brain-based learning and attention issues. ESSA allocates more funds for early learning and literacy and creates new opportunities for districts to implement UDL and personalized learning. With the deadline for submission of state implementation plans looming, learn from policy experts and practitioners about what this law means for you as a special or general educator and how can you become an advocate for your students and school.
