Summary

Everyone wants to live out the American Dream, and education is at its foundation. However, it seems the system is rigged to deny access to education and opportunity for the people who need it most, and for those who rightfully deserve it. The status quo has continually failed us, but our communities have accepted mediocrity for far too long. So how do we beat the system that has long since beat down our communities, and especially the poor minorities trapped in an unending cycle that locks them out of the education system? Colleges – and their students – must use all the resources at their disposal to reach out to the communities they live in and help their neighbors rise to the challenge.
