Summary

Do you believe in education being the great equalizer? Do you believe that we can empower people through educating them and improve communities and governments? If so, then this session is for you. This session will walk through our experience working with Distance Education for Africa to create the African Scholarship Cohort (ASC) at the University of Virginia (UVa). ASC is a pilot program where over 100 people in Sub-Saharan Africa were invited to participate in a series of open educational resources (OER) created by the Darden Graduate School of Business at the UVa and hosted on the Coursera massive open online course (MOOC) platform.
