Keeping Kids Safe Online: The Imperative of Parent Education

Mar 6, 2025

12:00pm – 12:30pm CT

This session is part of 2025 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU registrants as well as all SXSW registrants. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

As today’s youth continue to evolve what it means to be a digital citizen, and new online trends emerge faster than we have time to analyze them, helping parents stay on top of their children’s technology use has never been more important - or challenging. Parents remain largely in the dark about how technology impacts their children from the early years through to adolescence, making not just online safety at home a challenge, but a strong school-parent partnership too. Support in the form of digital wellbeing education with practical guidance on building healthy technology habits - is key.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
