Multicultural families are often overlooked when schools seek parent engagement due to perceived language barriers, uncertainty about their contribution to school activities, and unfamiliarity with cultural differences. Schools find it difficult to connect with these parents, and parents feel ill-equipped to integrate themselves into a new educational system.
