Raising Courageous Bystanders

What does it mean to be a courageous bystander? Over the past 25 years thousands of 4th grade students have boarded an imaginary time traveling bus to answer this question in The Courage to Stand. Our session will unpack the interactive theatre techniques and arts based tools the program uses to engage young people in conversations around bullying, discriminatory speech, and allyship. We aim to share the unique power of the arts in helping young people connect with their somatic experience and understand the mind-body connection integral to social emotional learning.
