Mikva Challenge

Verneé Green is the Chief Executive Officer of Mikva Challenge, a national civic education nonprofit with a mission to develop youth into empowered, informed and active civic leaders who will promote a just and equitable society. Verneé Green has over 25 years of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors. After joining Mikva in 2018 as the Chief Program Officer of Mikva’s Illinois chapter, she was named National CEO in June 2021. Under her leadership, Mikva has engaged over 300,000 youth in cities and classrooms across nearly 15 regions. Prior to joining Mikva Challenge, Verneé was also a Chicago Public Schools teacher, where she taught middle school social studies and civics, and was a counselor at two charter high schools.
