Magdalin Swanson

Maggie Swanson has been teaching since 2006 with the first years teaching all levels of high school math before transitioning to the college level in 2011. For the past five years, she has served as the Lead Instructor for MAT 1033: Intermediate Algebra and helped to design course options to promote student success. Focussing on active learning with a flipped classroom and plenty of encouragment to boost confidence, she loves helping students who claim to hate math and be terrible at it learn to thrive and understand. She has been awarded the FGCU Excellence in Teaching for Junior Faculty in 2018-2019 and then the John Herman Excellence in General Educatiion in 2021. Maggie has published a College Algebra course via Realizeit and spoken at Florida conferences on math and integrating technology.
