Thurman Hogan III

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Thurman Hogan III, a Trinity University grad, always had an organic inkling for the outdoors. When doing outdoor activities with his friends, he often felt the pressure to not fail as one of few persons of color. Those feelings led him to intern with and later be hired by Black Outside Inc., a nonprofit organization in San Antonio geared towards creating access to the outdoors for youth of color in Texas. You can find him taking meetings outside, exploring the outdoors, shooting his bow, doing funny stuff for the enjoyment of the kids he serves and trying to make the outdoors a place of enjoyment for all youth of color. He is a Certified Wilderness First Responder and an American Hiking Society NextGen Trail Leader, and oversees operations for Black Outside.
