Sustainable Bites: How Ur Campus Meal Fights Climate Change

This session is part of the special 2024 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU badgeholders as well as all SXSW badgeholders. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

The UN's call for a 1.5°C temperature reduction underscores the urgent need to transform food systems. Universities, as academic and operational hubs, are uniquely poised to lead this change. Integral to this are Auxiliary Services, which manage diverse campus services like food and housing. This session will focus on leveraging multi-stakeholder partnerships to address food system issues such as Circularity, Food Waste, and Planetary Health Diets. The aim is to explore how universities can act as living labs, driving scalable solutions to achieve SDGs by 2030.
