Joyful Learning Centers Racial Equity in Classrooms
The purpose of this session is to share with educators, school leaders, and early childhood program directors the ways in which intentionally centering racial equity in classroom practices and instructional strategies creates joyful learning spaces for children who have been traditionally marginalized in education spaces, such as children who are racially and ethnically diverse, linguistically diverse, or those who have culturally unique ways of learning or expressing themselves. The session will define joyful learning and describe a class observation tool focused on racial equity.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
