How Disruptive Philanthropy Is Reshaping the World of Giving

This session is part of the special 2024 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU badgeholders as well as all SXSW badgeholders. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

For decades, philanthropies have created their own gravitational pull that derails the priorities of grantees. But that’s beginning to change. Today, an emerging cadre of foundation leaders is taking aim at the old way of doing business — and building a model of giving that is deeply rooted in the needs and priorities of grantees and the communities they serve. This panel will explore how forward-thinking philanthropies from corporate to family endowments are reimagining the fundamentals of giving.
