Storytelling in College Essays Post Affirmative Action
With the 2023 Supreme Court decision to limit race-conscious admissions practices in higher education, colleges, and universities now face even more challenges to creating racially diverse classes. Consequently, higher education scholars and policy leaders believe the college essay will become even more critical in selective admissions practices. This session will feature a leading expert and researcher on trauma narratives in college admissions who will expose and discuss the potential consequences of affirmative action bans on the college essay.
