Storytelling for Social Change: Vocal Justice Workshop

Let's talk about how to transform learning environments into affirming, justice-oriented communities that position youth who are proximate to injustice as leaders for social change. After participating in a community circle and completing a spoken word activity, workshop participants will analyze and discuss how young people have leveraged storytelling as a tool for social change. Participants will also discuss how to best incorporate storytelling and social change principles into their own learning environments, and how doing so promotes healing-centered learning for young people.
