Using Music to Engage SWD in CS Learning
Music can be an effective and engaging way to break down barriers to CS learning for SWD. This session will explore how we can use activities such as algorithmic dances, coding and playing songs on harmonicas, and coding music on physical devices to introduce CS concepts like loops, conditionals, and variables. Participants will actively engage in music/CS activities, and will receive (and learn to code) a harmonica.
