Authentic Storytelling for Transformational Strategies

This session is part of the special 2024 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU badgeholders as well as all SXSW badgeholders. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

DC Public Schools firmly believes that individual schools work best when they reflect the unique needs of the community. But how do you keep those communities informed and connected to the work being done? Learn how DCPS embraced documentary storytelling to update stakeholders throughout its unprecedented redesign process at Anacostia High School. By forgoing traditional marketing methods in lieu of something more vulnerable, these schools created a dialogue with the community that ushered in greater change and served as a blueprint for community-driven transformation throughout the city.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
