Ecosystem of Well-Being: Mental Health at In-Between Spaces
The built environment of college campuses has a profound effect on students' mental health. Crises don’t wait to happen in a clinical space—for students, they often happen elsewhere on campus. While recent shifts support the prioritization and centralization of health and wellness resource hubs, access can be limited by both real impacts (location) or perceived (stigma). By converging mental health and student life design strategies, we will illustrate ways an ecosystem of well-being can permeate campus in-between spaces and shift the conversation from mental health treatment to prevention.
