Modifying Learning Initiatives for Accessibility

This session is part of the special 2024 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU badgeholders as well as all SXSW badgeholders. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

The need for accessible learning does not end at the completion of academic schooling. Even in a non-academic environment, adjusting instructional strategies to fit the needs of each learner is important to ensuring an inclusive environment. We will share strategies that we have used to modify our digital design and fabrication classes and cooking classes to make learning new skills accessible to adults with disabilities in our community. Through discussion and activities, attendees will work collaboratively to develop additional strategies tailored to their unique educational interactions.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
