Helping Students Rebuild Academic & Social Skills Post-Covid
This session provides practical suggestions for teachers helping students rebuild their academic skills and motivation for learning after the pandemic, with a focus on how instructors can use classroom activities to support their students’ evolving emotional and social needs. The session includes an explanation of a very successful ongoing written self-reflection assignment that guides students through recovering their academic purpose post-Covid. The session touches on the importance of using trauma-informed pedagogy and social-emotional learning strategies when teaching college students.
