Supporting the Equity Officer in K-12 Education
The K12 education equity officer role is essential for school districts to center and prioritize dismantling inequitable practices and policies as well as build new systems that will support the most minoritized. Unfortunately, those in the role are experiencing internal and external pressure that is causing an exodus. In this conversation, two leaders who support equity officers discuss concrete strategies, resources and competencies in order for those in the role to thrive. The session will also include implications for other district leaders particularly the superintendent and school board.
