Mapping the Assault on Critical Race Theory (CRT)

As of July 2023, over 738 anti-Critical Race Theory (CRT) measures were introduced at local, state & federal levels after the now-rescinded Executive Order 13950 - the Equity Gag Order. These measures impacted teaching and learning in higher education, government agencies, private businesses, and K-12 education. Actions included pausing diversity training, canceling ethnic studies courses, reducing funding, and removing school officials. This session will use data from the UCLA Law CRT Forward Project & PEN America to reveal future areas of attack & how to guard against those attacks.
