Inclusive Internships as Experiential Learning

The historical practice of unpaid internships perpetuates racial and economic disparities where only those with means can access the benefits of these experiences. Low-income students often must forgo internships that support their career goals and instead accept paid work outside of their field of study. This session aims to demonstrate how postsecondary support professionals can empower all students to pursue careers in policy and advocacy through internship programs that break down barriers.
