Advance sign up is required. Please locate the "RSVP" button on the page to reserve your spot. If you are unable to RSVP, there are walk up slots available and we encourage you to check in at the start time and put your name on the list.
Talk to me about:
- Experiential Education: Creating curriculum that takes students out of the classroom to directly interact with the community (Ex: visiting an urban winery that employs ex-convicts; assisting in an ESL class with refugees; touring an upcycling organization)
- Project Based Courses: How to create projects that engage students as active learners who are applying the content and skills of a course to a single project/set of projects (interviewing immigrants and writing a performance monologue; creating art from garbage; creating a writing portfolio for job interviews/college process)
- Community Partnerships: How to incorporate the local community into the curriculum (art museums, local businesses/professionals, grass roots organizations, religious organizations, local universities and colleges)
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
